Hunting Reserves in Asturias are areas of great hunting wealth that are created with the purpose of promoting, conserving, fostering and protecting species susceptible to hunting, subordinating to this main purpose the possible use of hunting.
The management of the resources of the Hunting Reserves in Asturias is public and depends directly on the Central Administration. To practice hunting in the Reserves, it is necessary to apply for a hunting permit valid for a single hunting day. The hunts are distributed according to predefined proportions among local hunters, regional hunting societies and the rest of regional hunters who request it, reserving a certain number of hunts to promote tourism via tourist stalking. The allocation is made upon request and via raffle.
